Myofascial Stretch Release Therapy
This dynamic approach to the body involves the synergy of different forms of stretching like AIS(active isolated stretching), PNF(proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), ART(active release technique) and myofascial trigger point therapy to allow for a more effective flow of the body's energy and biomechanical movement.. My approach encompasses the world of physical therapy and massage. I try to figure out the neuromuscular pattern in order to come up with an effective treatment plan. Forms of evidences I look for include but are not limited to are: postural analysis, active and passive joint mobilization, palpation of the myofascial lines and active strengthening. My approach involves working on the patient but also involves teaching the patient how he or she can further help the process along on their own at home or at the gym.. I teach the patient stretches they can do on their own, different exercises to either strengthen or activate the areas that are faulty and also the use of invaluable massage tools like a foam roller and a lacrosse ball. It is really about neuromuscular re-education of the body.
